ABOUT THE AUTHOR
This author is not known as much. She is not famous right now, and the internet source does not tell where was this author born in, not even her small info. But some reactions from other people i saw in a comment about her poem was that her poem has a big impact in life, whether the poem is not based on life. But besides that, having a biography about her would be great.
PERSONAL RESPONSE
This poem talks about how music can be not only aesthetic,
but music can be a mixture of art and pure beauty blended with each other. For
a text-to-text connection, the poem reminds me of the movie “August Rush”, for
the poem and movie both relate to music, and about how music is not only about
the sound, but also the beauty within music. The whole idea of the poem and the
movie both match each other. For as text-to-self connection, this poem would
make me want to think deeper about music. As a fellow musician in the Manta
Band, knowing a lot about music would be the most basic thing I would have to
know. For a text-to-world connection, music lovers would have this kind of
feeling, compared to people who don’t enjoy listening to music that much. Maybe
the poem can influence people to find the hidden beauty behind music. One
phrase that stood out the most in this poem was “Music opens the soul”, for it expresses the
emotional thought of music allowing people to forget about the stressful
thoughts and enjoy listening to music. The amazing ability music has is just
astonishing. I like the part of the poem about the description of music as just
plain sound, into the description of how music can bring joy to people and also
astonish people who listen to music. I would suggest the poet to put a bit more
description about how music can astonish a lot of people instead of the poem
being written like a one-person perspective.
